Od 1988 roku podczas Międzynarodowego Konwentu Komiksowego (Comic-Con International) w San Diego w Kalifornii przyznawane są Nagrody Eisnera (The Will Eisner Comic Industry Award). W środowisku komiksowym uznawane są one za najważniejsze nagrody w branży - dlatego też często nazywa się je Oscarami Komiksu.
